Born in Recife, in northeastern Brazil, Márcia Longman has built her creative identity at the intersection of architecture, art, and jewelry. An architect and jewelry designer, her background in Architecture, Urbanism, and Landscape Architecture, followed by studies in Jewelry Design at the Instituto Europeo di Design (IED) in São Paulo, reflects the diversity of references that shape her work.
Specialized in colored gemstones and in diamond grading and evaluation through the Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals (IBGM), Márcia also furthered her education in Italy, studying Jewelry Design and Jewelry Watercolor at LAO – Le Arti Orafe, in Florence.
Her approach to jewelry is rooted in a personal history deeply connected to art and materials. Growing up by the sea, her relationship with nature, as well as her passion for travel, photography, and architecture, have shaped a distinctive perception of form, color, volume, and texture. Her creative journey was also influenced by her father, Rômulo Braga de Azevêdo, who dedicated more than four decades to the jewelry industry at Constantine and became an important reference in her early connection with the world of jewelry.
In her creations, the geometric precision inherited from architecture meets the organic qualities of nature and the expressive power of Brazilian gemstones. Each stone is carefully selected and incorporated into the design, in a constant search for harmony between form, material, and identity.
At the helm of her eponymous brand, Márcia creates authorial collections and one-of-a-kind jewelry, working with gold, diamonds, Brazilian gemstones, and unconventional materials. Her work celebrates the individuality of each element, transforming jewelry into an expression of art, personality, and memory.
Among her creations, bespoke pieces hold a particularly special place. As part of this creative process, some exclusive jewels are accompanied by an original watercolor, signed by the designer herself — an artistic interpretation of the piece that expands its narrative and creates an even more intimate connection between the creation and its owner.
Her jewelry ultimately conveys a contemporary Brazilian perspective: sophisticated, sensitive, and deeply personal, where architecture, nature, and art converge to give form to unique objects.
